What is a French drain, and do I need one?
A French drain is a trench lined with filter fabric, with a perforated pipe set in stone. It collects water that’s soaking the ground and carries it downhill to a place where it can drain away. It helps with soggy lawns, water sitting along a foundation, and runoff coming off a slope. Sometimes regrading or extending downspouts is enough. If a simpler approach is appropriate, we’ll recommend it.
Can you work on a small in-town Newton lot?
Yes. The Bobcat E35 mini excavator and MT100 track loader are compact, so they fit through narrow side yards and gates that a full-size machine can’t. We plan access, protect lawns and walkways where we can, and work around mature trees and existing utilities.

Why does my gravel driveway keep rutting or washing out?
Usually there isn’t enough base stone, the driveway has no crown or pitch to shed water, or runoff crosses it with nowhere to go. Freeze-thaw makes all three worse.
